Darren Snellen is the Prison Rape Elimination Act (PREA) Coordinator for the Missouri Department of Corrections. In this role, he oversees compliance with the Prison Rape Elimination Act of 2003 in nineteen Missouri state prisons, six community supervision centers, and two transition centers and facilitates audits of these facilities. Darren began his career with the department in 2007 as a Corrections Officer I and has served as Investigator I/II/III, Assistant PREA Coordinator, and PREA Unit Manager. Before his employment with the department, Darren served as a local law enforcement officer, beginning in 2002, and he continues to volunteer as a reserve sheriff deputy.
