Nikki is currently the Assistant Director of Budget within the Office of Operations of the Department of Higher Education and Workforce Development. She began working for the department spring of 2020 as an Agency Budget Analyst, was quickly promoted to the Senior Agency Budget Analyst position by spring of 2021, and in July 2021 she was again promoted to Assistant Director of Budget. In her current role, her main responsibilities include overseeing the departments appropriations and expenditures, producing budget estimates and forecasting, preparing department budget books, managing the cost allocation plan, providing support for the public higher education institutions, and producing data for audits. She also manages the labor distribution profiles, higher education institutions reimbursement projects and reporting, and process transfers. Nikki holds a Bachelors and Master of Business Administration Accounting from Columbia College and has worked in accounting and budget for the state for 8 years. Prior to joining the Department of Higher Education and Workforce Development, Nikki dedicated five years to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Criminal Justice Services Division.
