Bio

Cindy Dunnaway joined the Department of Transportation in 2005 and currently serves as the Southwest District Traffic Engineer. She leads a team of engineering and permit staff to provide customer service and improve highway safety in the 21-county area in southwest Missouri, finding solutions to reduce crashes on Missouri roadways. Cindy previously served in various roles in the department, including Bridge Design, Construction & Materials, Highway Safety & Traffic, and Design. She is the Chair of the Southwest Region Missouri Coalition for Roadway Safety, bringing together engineering, education, law enforcement, and emergency service members to address the epidemic of fatal and serious injury crashes that occur on Missouri’s roadways. Cindy received her Bachelor of Science in Architectural Engineering from the University of Missouri–Rolla and is a registered Professional Engineer in the State of Missouri.
