Kyle began his career with the Department in December 2001 as a Corrections Officer I at the Jefferson City Correctional Center. In April 2008, he was promoted to Corrections Classification Assistant at Algoa Correctional Center, transferred to Fulton Reception Diagnostic Center in September 2009, and then transferred to Cremer Therapeutic Community Center in February 2011. He was promoted to Probation & Parole Assistant II in August 2011, and then in February 2012, he transferred back to FRDC as a Corrections Classification Assistant. In July 2012, he was promoted to Corrections Case Manager I, and then his position was reclassified to Corrections Case Manager II in July 2013. He was promoted to Functional Unit Manager in December 2018 and then promoted to Assistant Warden in February 2020. In November 2023, he was promoted to his current role of Deputy Warden at Tipton Correctional Center. Kyle has an Associate in General Studies and a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice Administration, both from Columbia College. In addition, he is Six Sigma Yellow Belt trained as well as NIMS and ORAS trained.
