Emily is as the Administrator of the Income Tax Bureau in the Taxation Division. The bureau consists of the Quality Review section, which is responsible for manually reviewing income tax returns, identifying and preventing fraud, and approving tax credits. The Refunds and Returned Mail section, which is responsible for managing the refund process and researching and correcting addresses for returned mail. The Income Tax Correspondence section, which is responsible for corresponding with individuals, accountants, and businesses regarding their income tax accounts. The Discovery section which utilizes various resources to verify that taxpayers are in tax compliance. And the Federal State Coordinator position which is the liaison between the IRS and the MO DOR.

Emily’s biggest takeaway from Missouri Leadership Academy all of the talented people working in state government and how much they cared for their agency and the people of Missouri. The encouragement and support that the members received from the state's leadership team was terrific.
