Umo Ironbar-Brandt joined the Department of Social Services in 2016 and currently serves as the Special Counsel for the Missouri Medicaid Audit and Compliance (MMAC). In her role, Umo provides legal advice and representation to MMAC in the administration of Medicaid audit and compliance as it pertains to Medicaid healthcare providers. This includes enhancing the integrity of the Missouri State Medicaid program by preventing and detecting fraudulent, abusive and wasteful practices within the Medicaid program and recovering improperly expended Medicaid funds while promoting high quality patient care. Umo is a graduate of the Saint Louis University School of Law with a concentration in Health Law. Umo is a community and social services professional with a Master of Public Affairs (MPA) in Public Administration from the University of Missouri-Columbia through the prestigious Capital Fellowship Program.
