Alicia Carpenter is the Administrative Manager over the Collections and Tax Assistance Bureau of the Missouri Department of Revenue. She currently manages the Taxation Call Center, Payment Plan, Tax Clearance, MyTax Portal, Collections Enforcement, and Collection Liaison sections. Her team strives to provide each customer the best experience with every contact, which often includes educating our citizen customers on tax law and reaching a mutually beneficial resolution on tax balances owed. Alicia began her career with DOR in 1996 and has held various roles within the Taxation Bureau. She completed The Missouri Way in 2019, attended Midwestern States Association of Tax Administrators (MSATA) in 2018, 2019, and 2022, and is Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certified. Since attending MLA, Alicia promoted in 2021 from the Administrative Manager role over Taxation's Collection Liaison and Enforcement groups to the Administrator role over Taxation's Collection and Assistance Bureau, which increased her team from 34 team members to 134, in 2021. Alicia's team recently implemented a new collections system for use by their outside collector and prosecuting attorney partners and is working toward implementing a new version of the Genesys phone system, in 2024.

Alicia’s biggest takeaway from Missouri Leadership Academy was that working with others that you have never worked with before offers you greater insight and sparks new ideas. The project could never have been completed by one person, alone.
