Danielle Smith has been with the Department of Commerce and Insurance since 2016 and is currently a Financial Analysis Manager within the Division of Company Regulation. She and her team are dedicated to serving Missourians by helping ensure that insurance companies are financially able to pay insurance claims in times of loss. This is achieved by conducting risk-focused financial analysis to identify risks and related controls present in insurers, determining compliance with Missouri statutes and regulations, and assessing potential impact on the insurers’ financial condition. She obtained her Certified Financial Examiner designation in 2019. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree with double majors in Accounting and Finance from Columbia College, Columbia, MO.
