Department of Mental Health
Rachel is the Director of Trauma Services with the Department of Mental Health. Her duties include setting the department's trauma and wellness initiatives for the workforce and advancing trauma informed knowledge, services and organizational change to stakeholders. In 2023, she led a team of eight state departments to form the Missouri Vicarious Trauma Improvement Plan (MOVTIP) to help address workplace trauma for the State of Missouri workforce. MOVTIP won first place in the 2023 Show Me Challenge! While in MLA, Rachel Jones served as Manager of Trauma Informed Treatment for the Department of Mental Health. Rachel served as Manager of Trauma Informed Treatment for the Division of Behavioral Health, Department of Mental Health. She provided trauma informed training, consultation and technical assistance with various projects to further implement trauma-informed knowledge, practices and treatment. Additionally, she assisted the Office of Disaster Services in state-wide response through the Missouri Crisis Counseling Program. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor and received Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology, Minor Degree in Black Studies, and a Master’s Degree in Educational, School and Counseling Psychology from University of Missouri-Columbia.
