Division Director for Weights, Measures and Consumer Protection
Department of Agriculture
Jimmy is the Division Director for Weights, Measures and Consumer Protection for the Missouri Department of Agriculture. This division is responsible for ensuring consumer transactions involving weights and measures are fair and equitable. This work is accomplished through the testing of scales, propane meters and fuel dispensers. In addition, the division operates two laboratories (Fuel Quality and Metrology) and oversees the state’s land survey office in Rolla.

During his Missouri Leadership Academy journey, Jimmy served as the Administrator of Grain Inspection Services. Jimmy began his career with the Missouri Department of Agriculture in 1993 and has served in multiple roles in three of the department’s five divisions. He earned his Bachelor of Science at Southeast Missouri State University and received his Master in Public Affairs from the University of Missouri-Columbia.

Jimmy’s biggest takeaway from Missouri Leadership Academy is the importance of learning. Leaders should never stop learning and should always strive to be better and to do more. Leadership roles in state government are indeed a privilege and we all need to be reminded to never settle for the status quo.
