Esperansa joined the Department of Public Safety in 2022, working as a Grants Specialist where she manages the Local Emergency Planning Committee/District and serves as the primary Compliance Officer for all grantees with A-133 Single Audits. She also serves on the Employee Activity Committee and assists with planning as a State Emergency Operations Center Section Chief to update and coordinate state and federal agencies to respond to emergencies, disasters, and special reports to send to the upper leadership. Before joining the State Emergency Management Agency, she worked as a grants manager at the Office of Victims of Crime. Esperansa currently holds a Bachelor of Science, International Board-Certified Lactation Consulting Certification, and will graduate with her Master's in Public Health at the end of the summer from the University of Missouri with an emphasis on Policy and Promotion.
