Nathaniel Atkins is currently serving as an Assistant Warden at the Western Reception Diagnostic Correctional Center in St. Joseph, Missouri. WRDCC is 2,152 bed facility that houses Diagnostic, General Population, and Treatment Offenders. In his current role, he oversees the classification staff, as well as the offender population and the units in which they reside. Nathaniel began his career with the Missouri Department of Corrections in 2016 as a Corrections Officer at WRDCC. He has spent his entire career at WRDCC and has also held the positions of Sergeant, Case Manager, and Functional Unit Manager. Nathaniel began his current role of Assistant Warden in January of 2025. He earned his associate’s degree in criminal justice from North Central Missouri College in Trenton, Missouri.
