Heather joined the Department of Health and Senior Services in 2006. She is currently the Laboratory Supervisor for the Virology Unit at the Missouri State Public Health Laboratory. She has also worked as a communicable disease epidemiologist and an environmental public health supervisor for the Department during her career. In addition to her work with the state laboratory, she is also an Adjunct Professor for the University of Missouri School of Health Professions. Heather earned her bachelor’s degree from Drury University and a Master's of Public Health from the University of Missouri-Columbia. She is currently pursuing a DrPH in Public Health and Clinical Laboratory Science and Practice at the University of South Florida.
