John Hoke serves as the Director of the Missouri Department of Natural Resources Water Protection Program. He joined the department in 1999 and has over 2 decades of experience in protecting, preserving, and restoring Missouri water quality. John currently leads a team of dedicated environmental professionals, engineers, and support staff to implement state and federal clean water and safe drinking water laws and regulations. Before state service, he worked as an environmental consultant in the private sector. A native of southern Illinois, John received his Bachelor of Science in Geological Sciences from the University of Illinois – Champaign and his Master of Science degree in Geological Sciences from the University of Missouri – Columbia.
