Charles Anderson currently serves as the Department of Conservation’s (MDC) Game and Regulations Unit Supervisor, where he works with a team of staff to lead management of Missouri’s black bear, deer, elk, furbearers, turkey, quail/small game, and waterfowl populations. Prior to entering this role, Jason served as MDC’s Forest Systems Field Station Supervisor and Heritage Unit Supervisor since joining the Department in 2011. During his career, Charles has also conducted research for several universities and governmental agencies including the Texas Tech University, Texas Parks and Wildlife, University of Nebraska, Colorado Parks and Wildlife, and USDA/APHIS-Wildlife Services. Charles earned his master’s degree in forestry and wildlife management from Stephen F. Austin State University and a doctoral degree from Southern Illinois University Carbondale where he evaluated white-tailed deer ecology.
