Native to Missouri, Angie Alford is passionate about assisting her fellow Missourians in leading their best lives possible. Angie has a combined total of 21 years of experience in the social services field, where she has continually provided support to the staff she works with and the clients they serve. Angie joined the Missouri Department of Mental Health (DMH), Division of Developmental Disabilities (DD), in 2006. Through her dynamic tenure, Angie worked her way into the leadership role of Regional Office Director. Since taking on the Director role 12 years ago, Angie has directed operations for the Sikeston, Poplar Bluff, and Rolla Regions, which serve thirty-three counties. As a Regional Office Director, Angie provides supervision and guidance to the executive teams within the three offices she leads. Angie also maintains an effective working relationship with community leaders, county boards, provider groups, targeted case management entities, and other state agencies. Angie leads by upholding high standards and treating people with dignity and grace. Angie proudly strives to uphold the mission, vision, and values of the State of Missouri, as well as those for DMH. Angie is excited to participate in the State Leadership Academy as not only an investment in her professional development and future goals but also to model what she experiences and learns for others.
