Aleesha joined the Department of Health and Senior Services in 2009 and currently serves as the Primary Care Manager for the Office of Rural Health and Primary Care within the Division of Community and Public Health. In this position, her role is to provide oversight to the Primary Care Office and work to identify communities with the greatest unmet health care needs, disparities, and health workforce shortages; identify key barriers to access for these communities and work toward solutions. She manages multiple programs and grants, assists with the recruitment and retention of health professionals in areas of need, and develops and maintains extensive partnerships and collaborations with federal, state, and local agencies and organizations to obtain and distribute resources necessary to protect health and increase access to care. Aleesha serves on many public health committees and work groups and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration and Marketing.
