Bio

Alicia joined the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education in January 2019. She served as Assistant Director in the Office of Special Education before becoming Director of Special Education Finance in the Division of Financial and Administrative Services. Alicia leads a dedicated team in supervising and coordinating the financial functions of the Office of Special Education, overseeing the payment of state and federal funds to Local Education Agencies for services provided to students with disabilities. Her experience includes 10 years of teaching in Missouri schools, and her love of education led her to achieve a bachelor's degree in Secondary Education, a Master's degree in Teaching, and an Education Specialist degree in Workforce Development and Education. Since joining the state workforce, Alicia has become a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt and supports the Department's vision of improving lives through education.
