As SEMA’s Public Relations Director, Caty is responsible for emergency management messaging and external communications, including written news releases, interacting with traditional media outlets, updating webpages, creating video content, and managing social media. She has previously served as the Communications Director for the State Treasurer’s Office and the Deputy Communications Director for the Department of Commerce and Insurance. Caty was nominated to participate in MLA during her time at DCI and was also selected as one of 13 Influencers representing each of the department’s nine divisions and the Director’s Office to gather insights and help DCI’s Operational Excellence Leader facilitate continuous improvement and employee recognition. Prior to her service with SEMA, STO, and DCI, Caty was a Video/Web Content Specialist with the Office of Administration, filming Governor’s events and covering statewide initiatives. She holds a Bachelor of Journalism with an interest in Emerging Media from the University of Missouri.
