Leah has worked for the State of Missouri since 2015 and currently serves as a Human Resources (HR) Coordinator for the Department of Higher Education and Workforce Development (DHEWD). Within her role, Leah is responsible for recruitment and retention, hiring, employee conflict resolution, discipline, grievance/complaint investigation, development and delivery of training, professional development, as well as recommending/implementing HR-related policies and providing guidance to management on HR-related employment laws. Leah currently serves as a Safety Coordinator and the Wellness Ambassador at DHEWD, in addition to serving on the Office of Administration’s Black History Month Committee and the Youth Diversity and Inclusion Day committee. Previously, Leah worked as a Human Resources Coordinator at the Department of Economic Development and has held other various HR roles outside of state government for 18 years. Leah earned her Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration: Human Resource Management from Lindenwood University in 2004 and obtained her Society of Human Resources Management – Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) in June 2021.
