Austin M. Albert joined the Missouri Department of Economic Development staff in 2020 as the St. Louis Regional Manager with the Regional Engagement Division. In his current role, Austin leads a team of project managers in support of Missouri’s business expansion and retention activities across the five-county St. Louis region. In addition, this team collaborates with local partners to solve various community development challenges facing the region. He has held several private and public sector roles prior to joining the DED in the fields of city planning, economic development, and real estate finance and development. Austin also previously served as an All-Source Intelligence Non-Commissioned Officer in the U.S. Army. He had two deployments in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. Austin has both a bachelor’s degree in international relations and business management from Webster University as well as a master’s in city and regional planning from Georgia Tech.
