Susanne has been with the Missouri State Highway Patrol Crime Laboratory Division since 1997 and currently oversees the daily administration and operation of the DNA Casework, DNA Screening, CODIS, Trace Evidence, Firearms/Toolmarks, and Latent Print disciplines of the General Headquarters laboratory. She began her professional career as a Criminalist in the DNA Profiling/CODIS section, designated as State CODIS Administrator in 2002, promoted to Criminalist Supervisor in 2008, and promoted to Laboratory Manager in 2018. Her professional training in supervision and management topics include IACP Women's Leadership Institute, MSHP Academy Management and Executive Development, Leadership for a Lifetime, IACP Leadership in Police Organizations, and MSHP First Line Supervision. She is a current member of the American Society of Crime Laboratory Directors (ASCLD), Midwestern Association of Forensic Scientists (MAFS), American Academy of Forensic Science (AAFS), and American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP). Susanne, a lifelong Missouri resident, is a graduate of Blair Oaks High School in Wardsville, MO and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Technology from Missouri State University.
