Alison Dorge
Program Coordinator, Certificate of Need (CON) Program
Department of Health and Senior Services
Alison is the Program Coordinator for Certificate of Need (CON) Program. She provides support to the nine-member Missouri Health Facilities Review Committee. She and her team work with CON applicants and prepare analysis of new proposals in Missouri for long-term care facilities, long-term care hospitals, hospitals, and major medical equipment for committee review. She monitors the progress of CON approved projects and the quarterly occupancy survey of all licensed long-term care facilities in Missouri. Alison began her professional tenure with the Department of Health and Senior Services (DHSS) in 2016. She serves on several committees within DHSS and is Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certified. Since Missouri Leadership Academy graduation in February of 2022, Alison continues to manage the CON program but was tasked with the development and oversight of the Supplemental Health Care Service "Staffing" Agency section. Senate Bill 710 passed during the 2022 legislative session requiring the department to regulate staffing agencies across the United States that contract temporary health care personnel in Missouri hospitals and nursing homes. Since 2022, she has promulgated rules for the section, developed the registration application process, and is creating the inspection process for such agencies.

Alison’s biggest takeaway from Missouri Leadership Academy is leadership is not a one-size fits all and every day is not going to be rainbows and butterflies leading your team, and that's okay.
