Karen serves as Kansas City Regional Office Director in the Department of Natural Resources, Division of Environmental Quality. She manages a team of 36 who monitor and provide assistance for environmental compliance over a 19 county area. Karen began her career with the Department of Natural Resources in 1998 as an inspector in the Southeast Regional Office. During her career with the Department, Karen also spent 18 years with the Water Resources Center working interstate water management issues. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Resource Ecology from the University of Michigan – Flint, and a Masters of Arts in Geography from the University of Missouri – Columbia.
