Scott Kaden

Scott Kaden began his career at the Department of Natural Resources Missouri Geological Survey (MGS) in 1998. He has held various positions at MGS in multiple programs and is currently the Groundwater Section Chief in MGS's Water Resources Center (WRC). Scott formerly served MGS by working in the Well Installation Section, Environmental Geology Section, and Geological Resources Section. In his current WRC role, Scott oversees staff who collect groundwater level data from a network of 150 statewide observation wells, collect spring water quality and flow data, collect water data from Missouri's major water users, assist other department groups on the construction of public water supply wells, maintain numerous water-related GIS layer, and create geologic well logs by interpreting rock cuttings from water wells. Prior to his MGS career, Scott worked as a cartographer for the federal Department of Defense in St. Louis. He graduated from the University of Central Missouri with two BS degrees, one each in Geography and Geology, and is a professional registered geologist.
